Information for Faculty

This guide provides information on services that the library provides specifically for LLU faculty members.

Current LLU Transformative Agreements

The LLU Library has negotiated a Transformative Agreement with the Company of Biologists' Read & Publish initiative. This means that:

  • Corresponding authors wishing to publish Open Access can do so without paying an article processing charge (APC) in all five of The Company of Biologists' specialist journalsDevelopmentJournal of Cell Science, Journal of Experimental Biology, Disease Models & Mechanisms, and Biology Open.
  • Researchers at Loma Linda University can publish an uncapped number of articles in the above journals.
  • You can search and download any article from The Company of Biologists' journals, including the full archive dating back to 1853.
  • Additionally, a tree is planted in a UK forest every time a researcher at Loma Linda University publishes a Research article or Review article with the Company of Biologists.
  • The Company of Biologists' guide-for-authors provides further details on how to submit your work.

Current SCELC Transformative Agreements

Because the library is a member of the Statewide California Electronic Library Consortium (SCELC), LLU researchers have the opportunity to publish open access articles with zero or discounted article processing charges.

To get this offer, you must use your LLU email, be the corresponding LLU-affiliated author, and choose to publish your article as open access. The discounted funding is for eligible journals from the publishers listed.

The links here will provide you with further information on how to take advantage of this opportunity!
