How to set up an RSS feed in Outlook

If you want to get notifications from a website, blog, journal, publisher, etc., you can add RSS feeds to your Outlook email. 

 

Connecting RSS to Outlook

1. In Outlook, right-click the RSS Feeds folder in the left toolbar. Select "Add a New RSS Feed..."

 

2. In the New RSS Feed box, input the URL of the RSS Feed.

 

Locating the RSS feeds

Tip from Microsoft Support: "If you need help finding the RSS feed URL on a website, look for an RSS icon. Button image Right-click that icon, and then copy the shortcut to the Clipboard. Press Ctrl+V to paste the information from the Clipboard into the RSS Feed location box."

 

3-Step Instructions for Finding RSS Feeds

Finding RSS feeds from the Library's Journal and eBook Portal

From the library website, search for a journal in the search box or Navigate to the Library's Journal & eBook Portal

 

Browse and select a journal. Click on any of the online Full Text Access options.

For this example, the AANA journal was selected and the first Full Text Access option was chosen.

 

Find and select the Share button

 

 

Select RSS Feed

 

Copy the RSS URL
