There are a few different websites that offer researcher profiles for anybody to create. Some of the most popular ones are Google Scholar, Web of Science, ORCID, and Research Gate.
You can choose which website to create a researcher profile depending on where your article is published.
ORCID (https://orcid.org/) is a website where you can create a profile and upload your published research. This is useful because now you are searchable with your attached bibliographic output.
Research Gate (https://www.researchgate.net/) is another website where you can create a researcher profile and upload your published research. You can link your ORCID to Research Gate. This is a very popular website!
Web of Science has a few different indexes of journals and articles in its repository. Before you decide to claim your Web of Science researcher profile, it is best to see if your articles are indexed in their collection. To do this, simply search by article title or DOI. Web of Science includes information on how many times your research articles have been cited.
Google Scholar (https://scholar.google.com/intl/en/scholar/citations.html) is a website where you can create a researcher profile and link your published research. Google Scholar shows how many times your research articles have been cited as well as the h-index.
