Borrowing Library Materials: At this time library materials in the East Campus Library collection do not circulate.

Computer Use: Computers are available in the library for your use. A university login account is required for login.

Wireless Network access: The library and patio area are enabled for wireless access. User name & password: Use your LLU email account username and password. And to log in to LLUOnline. Contact the LLU Helpdesk ext. 48611 for login issues. Wireless network access see: http://www.llu.edu/wireless/

Document Delivery and Interlibrary Loan: The library makes every attempt to locate and borrow materials for study, research, or teaching. The normal turnaround time for interlibrary loans is 5-10 work days. There are two ways of submitting requests:

  • Document Deliverey Request Form: Allows user to order books, articles and other materials not owned by the Loma Linda University Libraries
  • LINK+: service for books allows users to request books directly from participating academic/public libraries in CA & NV.

In addition, the National Library of Medicine Loansome Doc service enables PubMed® and NLM Gateway users to order documents found in MEDLINE®

Photocopying: A self-service photocopier is available in the East Campus Library. Copies cost $.08 per page. A photocopy card is attached next to the copier for your use. Other library locations will also require a copycard. There is a one-time cost of $1.00 deposit for each card or you can have value added on to your UnivID. Card holders can add value to the card at the vending machine or at the Del Webb Circulation desk. Some departments have photocopy cards available to their staff. However, these cards are kept in the departments, not in the library.

Reference Services: Reference librarians are availablt to support your clinical, research and teaching needs by locating factual information related to disease, therapy or procedures. Look for the search request form under Library Information on the library site. Usual turnaround time for search requests is 1-2 business days.

The Del Webb reference desk is staffed Monday through Thursday from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM; Friday 10:00 AM-2:00 PM

Del E. Webb Library

  • Journals: library use only
  • General materials: 28 days

Renewals: Books may be renewed in person at the circulation desk by calling (909) 558-4550, or you may renew online by viewing your circulation record on or before the due date. (Enter your name, barcode, and PIN number in the form to access this service.)

Jesse Medical Library

  • Books: 2 week check-out, no renewals
  • Journals: 24 hrs (no more than 3 at a time)
  • Access: The Jesse Medical Library is open to the public during regular hours. Access after hours is available to all LLUMC personnel by contacting the office of Security (students are not permitted after-hours access). All library materials may be borrowed by registered staff, faculty, and students of LLUMC, LLUMC-East Campus Specialty Hospital, LLUHC, LLUBMC, or LLU.

 

 

Connect from off campus

LLU students, faculty, and LLU/MC employees can easily connect to most electronic library resources from off-campus.

The Login screen (once you click on a database or the fulltext of a journal) gives you two choices:

The University Login:

Students may login with the same credentials used for LLUOnline (Blackboard), myLLU, wireless, etc.

If students are having username/password difficulties, contact the helpdesk at lluhelpdesk@llu.edu or 909.558.1000 (x48611).

Faculty and staff will need to update their library patron record with their EID number (on badge) by contacting  the Del Webb Circulation desk @ 909.558.4550 (x44550).

The Libraries Login:
Enter:
  1. Your first and last name.
  2. Your barcode (on the bottom of your ID card)
  3. A PIN*

More about the PIN:

If you do not have a PIN, leave the PIN field blank when logging in. The system will walk you through creating a PIN. If you already have a PIN, but cannot remember it, please call the Del Webb Circulation desk @ 909.558.4550 (x44550).
