Help using Endnote: A Bibliographic Software Program and EndNote Online: Your Web-Based Research and Writing Tool

Downloading EndNote

  1. Navigate to https://myllu.llu.edu/downloads/ 
  2. Login on the myLLU portal 
  3. We recommend downloading EndNote 20 but download the version that is compatible with your software 
  4. Read the LLU Software Agreement and click "I Agree" 

  5. Open Finder and view Downloads. Double-click on the EndNote file: EndNote20SiteInstaller.dmg
  6. Then double-click on the Install EndNote button:

     

     

Installing EndNote

There are a series of installation steps to be followed. The appropriate responses are outlined in red and written above the images:

  1.  Click Install 

  2. Click Next 

  3. Click Next 

  4. Click Done 

You may be prompted to download an updated version of EndNote. We recommend you do, but it is not required.

Notes on older versions of EndNote:

If you have a previous version of EndNote installed, you should uninstall it before installing the new version.

When you download EndNote from myLLU you are provided with two files to install the program, an ENX8Inst.msi installer and a license.dat file. These two files must be together in the same folder for the installation to run without asking for a product key. If you are given a zipped file containing these two files, as in the example file shown below, you will need to extract them from the zipped file before running the installer. Right-click on the file, then select the Extract All option.
